Santorum backs nullifying existing gay marriages:

Once the U.S. Constitution is amended to prohibit same-gender marriages, “their marriage would be invalid,” the former Pennsylvania senator said Dec. 30 in an NBC News interview.

“We can’t have 50 different marriage laws in this country,” he said. “You have to have one marriage law.”

My favorite part is later in the article, where he’s quoted as saying, “Just because public opinion says something doesn’t mean it’s right. I’m sure there were times in areas of this country when people said blacks were less than human.”

Dammit this man is dumb. I can’t believe people are seriously considering running this guy for president. What is it with a certain chunk of our population who just idolize stupid politicians?

Yes, there were “times in areas of this country when people said blacks were less than human.” In fact, there were times when the majority of the people in this country said blacks were less than human. But, eventually, we figured out we were wrong, and changed our opinion. Just as, finally, we’re beginning to do with gay people. How can this man utter this sentence and not see the similarities, there? It baffles me.

Theorizing that one could time travel within her own lifetime, Marci Sischo stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator -- no, no. That's Dr. Sam Beckett. Drat.

Marci Sischo grew up in northern Michigan, and moved to Oregon in 2009. Yes! She's the Commuter's webmaster, pursuing a journalism degree at LBCC, and in her dwindling spare time, she's co-authoring an urban fantasy novel.
