We rang in the new year by drinking a beer and playing on our new Kindle Fires all night. We are wild and crazy, y'all. That's okay, though. I've just been informed by a reliable source that I already won New Year's Eve, so that means I don't have to try that hard anymore. This time of the year is marked by retrospectives, though. There are roughly 80 billion Top # Lists online right now, and you know I hate being left out of things, so I'm tossing in my two cents.

Wait… Beer-Flavored Jelly?

We headed to Portland for the Saturday Market this morning with Jim's folks, and our big find was Guyot Family Farms. They do homemade jams, jellies, and syrups, all organic stuff. They had a cute little stand set up at the Saturday Market, and Jim and I wandered by, not paying much attention. The beer jellies caught our eye and brought us to a screeching halt because seriously? Beer-flavored jelly? This is a thing?

Osama bin Laden Dead

James said, "So, Bin Laden is no more. Something about this bothers me. The news is showing footage of people literally cheering in the streets, celebrating the death of Osama bin Laden. The news can't stop burbling about it , as though this should be a new national holiday. And I feel this sends the wrong message."

They’re Remaking “The Crow”?

In 1994, as I was getting ready to graduate high school, The Crow hit the theaters. My friends and I saw it maybe a dozen times in the theater. We watched it until the theaters took it away from us, and the red hot second we could snag it from the video stores we all owned a copy. We watched it religiously. We memorized it. We dressed like the Crow. We quoted it endlessly.
