Ladies and gentlemen, today is National Coffee Day, which is a thing, apparently. In honor of this auspicious holiday, I intend to drink a crapton of coffee this evening, so I can stay up late and watch Marvel’s Luke Cage on Netflix. It should debut tonight at midnight (all the others have, anyway). I will not stay up all night desperately trying to binge the whole thing before work tomorrow, no matter how much coffee I drink, because I’m 40 now and I’m pretty sure I’d die. But I really want to. You do too, probably. Here, check out the trailer. See what I mean?

➼ 1 Dead, 74 Hospitalized In NJ Train Crash, National Transportation Safety Board Investigating
A train broke through a station barrier in Hoboken, New Jersey this morning. You can check out #Hoboken on Twitter, Reuter’s live updates or Google’s Real Time Coverage for more information.
➼ How Donald Trump’s Company Violated the United States Embargo Against Cuba
So, this is a big deal, as it’s 100% illegal and there’s proof Donald Trump knew about it. Further, the Trump camp doesn’t seem to be denying it.
This article is by the same guy who wrote “How the Trump Organization’s Foreign Business Ties Could Upend U.S. National Security,” about the Trump Organization and the massive ethical and national security breaches it represents for a President Trump, two weeks ago.
I guess I’m mostly curious about what happens next at this point. Like, do the authorities have time to investigate and indict Trump and/or Trump’s people before election day, which is just a bit over a month away? I’d think not, but I guess you never know. If they do, what happens then? Like, are you even allowed to run for president when you’re accused of such a major crime? If they don’t have time, and Trump’s elected, can they still indict him? I think they can, but I’m not sure. If they can and they do, what happens next?
It’d be nice if this story came along with some context covering these questions, News People. It’s been a long time since our high school civics classes, for a lot of us.
➼ EXCLUSIVE: NY Attorney General’s Probe Of Trump Foundation Appears To Widen
Speaking of investigations, remember how New York attorney general Eric Schneiderman is investigating Trump’s “charity,” the Trump Foundation? Looks like that’s heating up, too. What, is this going to be a race to see who can nail Trump first for something?
I wonder if Trump’s sorry he ran for president, yet? I can’t imagine all this would have come out if he hadn’t – I mean, who cared about Trump prior to his announcing his run? I wonder if he’s even capable of recognizing how much trouble he might be in, or if he actually is ensconced in some weird mental fantasy land where he’s done nothing wrong?
➼ The FCC Wants To Know Why Journalists Had To Pay $200 For WiFi At Presidential Debate
In case you missed it, journalists had to pay $200 to hook up to the wifi at the first presidential debate. They weren’t allowed to use any of their own connections, either, like a wifi dongle, or turning their phone into a hotspot, nothing. It was Hofstra’s $200 wifi or nothing at all, and I’m pretty sure that’s the textbook definition of bullshit. Turns out, the FCC suspects it is, as well.
➼ The George W. Bush White House ‘lost’ 22 Million Emails
Y’know. Since everyone has their knickers in a twist over emails, lately.
➼ The CW’s Big DC Superhero Crossover Will Pit the Heroes Against an Alien Invasion
Enough of that stuff – on to better news! The CW is throwing a great big superhero party this season with a four-episode, four-series crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. It’s gonna be so awesome! And also it’s going to be an alien invasion! I’m so excited I could pop!
I’m curious as to whether they’re going to integrate Supergirl into the main CWverse or not. I haven’t heard anything about it. I had assumed that was going to be accomplished somehow during Flashpoint, but that seems less and less like the case, the more we hear about Flashpoint. Maybe they’ll get integrated during the crossover? I hope they do. It just seems awkward to have Supergirl hanging out on Earth 3 or wherever all by herself.
➼ Everyone Can Now Create Twitter Moments: Here’s All You Need to Know
Well, y’know, “everyone.” The feature is still rolling out across the platform. The “Moments” tab just turned up in my Twitter account, but when I click on it, I still don’t have the ability to actually create a Moment. Which is super annoying because I want to play with the new toys, Twitter!
➼ Minecraft Snapshot 16W39B – the Exploration Update
Minecraft is working on some really nifty-looking new features. At least three new mobs, including llamas, a new “Woodland Mansion” auto-generating structure, treasure maps, all kinds of fun stuff. I’m going to have to install the snapshot later on to check it all out.
➼ Daily Cute
Okay, now go watch these ferrets horsing around and playing in a bunch of dryer hose.
