Friday Tunes: ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ Pentatonix

Pentatonix is a five-member American a cappella group from Arlington, Texas, consisting of vocalists Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Avi Kaplan, and Kevin Olusola. Characterized by their pop-style arrangements with vocal harmonies, basslines, riffing, percussion and beatboxing, they are widely known for their covers, mostly of modern pop works or Christmas songs, sometimes in the form of medleys, along with original material. After this? Four whole days off. Am I looking forward to it? Yes. Yes I am, people. I may put myself on a news and social media embargo, too, so if you don’t see me around much online, that’s why. It’s gonna be all Sims, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., and maybe a little Community. Oh, plus Dark Matter and Killjoys, and the season finale of Doctor Who. TV and video games, folks, and no Trump at all, if I can manage it.
