So, today is Tuesday, a mere 117 days into the Trump presidency, and we’re contending with this crap:
- Trump up and fired James Comey, the guy investigating the Trump-Russia ties, last Tuesday.
- The next day Trump met with the Russian foreign minister and the Russian ambassador at the Russian president’s request, a meeting US press was shut out of but Russian spy-aligned Russian press (which the White House apparently didn’t know) was allowed into.
- At the meeting, Trump – apparently accidentally, due to general ignorance and disinterest – leaked highly classified information gained from Israel, about ISIS, to to the Russians, which is probably going to get at least one allied agent killed.
- This afternoon, a memo written by James Comey, detailing a meeting where Trump asked him to stop the Russia investigation, leaked.
Now James Comey is being invited to testify publicly in front of the Senate, Senator Angus King (I-ME) is saying we’re “moving towards an impeachement process,” and Jason Chaffetz, of all the people, is demanding Comey’s memos.
Ladies and gentlemen, shit may, in fact, finally, be getting real.
