Thanks to the hard work of thousands of unyielding activists, the Senate Democrats who unwaveringly held the line, and three Republicans – two women who refused to buckle on their beliefs the whole time: Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Senator Susan Collins of Maine; and, swooping in at the literal eleventh hour to cast a vote and seal his legacy, Senator John McCain of Arizona – Mitch McConnell’s “skinny repeal” failed in the Senate last night.

Guys, this fight isn’t over. Trump and the GOP will try to blow up Obamacare by not funding things that need funding, and other dirty moves. There will be other bills to kill Medicaid and strip down Medicare. They’ll try again on a repeal sooner rather than later.
There are other fights ongoing. The Trump administration is going after transgender people and the LGBT community in general. ICE is still deporting people at record rates. Trump’s desperately trying to subvert the rule of law, fire Mueller, and worse. There’s probably still a stupid, senseless war with someone looming.
But last night we scored a win. Celebrate a little. Then get back to work.
