Black Alice is an urban fantasy serial novel set in Detroit, Michigan. Demons, zombies, Lovecraftian horrors and everything in between live under the veil of the Tesla Effect, protected from the prying eyes (and pitchforks and torches) of the mundanes who outnumber them. The Tesla Effect can’t protect them from the ruthless persecution of the Order of St. Heinrich, though, and it’s not doing much to save them from the Arcana, the very people claiming to guard them.

Black Alice, Book One

Alice Frye is an Artificer living in Highland Park, and she’s perfectly happy running her curio shop full of gewgaws and magical artifacts while her zombified late husband handles the cleaning and grocery shopping. That is, until the local Inquisitor of the Order strides into her store and demands her assistance dealing with a new supernatural threat, putting Alice in danger from every side, and forcing her to not only save herself and her city, but to actually give a damn, for a change.

Black Alice, Book Two

The last time she bumped into Irish, Alice Frye’s store was blown up, her car was wrecked, her cover was blown, and she almost got killed so many times she lost track. This time people are shooting at her before she even has time to say hello.

The Order is back for round two and Alice has a big, fat target on her back, as do half the supernatural citizens in the city. Irish is acting a little psycho, and it’s the worrying kind of psycho, not the sexy kind. Grace is losing her mind, and Honey’s got her eye on the newest Knight in town, who comes complete with a terrifying twin brother. Owen’s up to something, Alice is getting blamed for the Holocaust, and to top it all off, her ex is back in town.
