I’m on vacation for the week, so today we met up with Chris, Kaci and Sarah in Albany for a little Pokemon GO.
Google claimed it was 40° but this was clearly a lie, as we were all freezing our butts off in a matter of minutes. Or at least, us girls were. If this cold snap keeps up, I’m going to have to invest in some winter clothes again.
At any rate, since we were freezing, Kaci and I were trucking along, a bit ahead of Sarah and the guys as we walked the riverfront in Albany, catching pokemon and trying to hatch eggs. We were chattering away as we walked, trying desperately to keep our minds off the fact that we couldn’t feel our fingers anymore (or at least, I was), when suddenly, and with no warning at all, I was on my hands and knees and in quite an unpleasant bit of pain.
Turns out, there was a nice-sized ice slick on the sidewalk, and both Kaci and I went straight down on it at the exact same time. Sarah, Jim and Chris were kind enough to inform us, after they were sure we were okay, that it was pretty funny to watch.
No harm done, though. I skinned my knees and Kaci skinned her palms, but other than that, we were okay.
When Pokemon GO tells gives you that little warning to pay attention to your surroundings as you play, it’s being serious, apparently.
After that we decided that we were cold enough that Pokemonning wasn’t fun anymore, so we headed over to Chris and Kaci’s to play Red Dragon Inn for a couple of hours before heading home. Fun day!
